The Red Rose Has Lost Its Colour…

Opened the keepsake of your memories this evening.
The red rose you gave me has lost its colour and meaning.
People change, feelings change, colours fade,
What doesn’t change are memories.
They stay lull and still,
So many unanswered questions that they drill.
What we had within us is lost and gone forever,
The red colour of our love that you promised will stay as bright as ever.

  1. Delightful observation, Fatima–memories of a lost love can keep that love alive. Perhaps what does change is our outlook on those memories. It’s possible to look back with fondness, not regret.
